You Can Google Anything

I am a big fan of the internet and firmly believe that you can "google" anything.  Here's the proof.

A few summers ago, I decided to start making my own cleaning products.  Some worked great - like dishwasher tabs.  Some didn't work so well - like homemade deodorant.  Don't ask for details and be thankful that no one has invented smell-o-vision.

But, of all of the concoctions that I posted, this is the one that has gone farther than I expected.  (I'm not going to use the word viral, but it has FAR more reads than anything else I've posted.) The number of reads has increased since last night.  Guess what this semi-famous post is?

Homemade Silk Plant Cleaner.

2264 people have googled "how to clean a silk plant" and found my tiny blog.  Go figure.  Who would've ever thought it?

So, if anyone needs to do some cleaning of that ficus tree in the corner, go for it!

Does cleaning something like a plant make you happy?  It does for me.  It's accomplishing a feat that gets pushed to the back burner WAY too often.  And really makes a difference in how clean my house feels and smells.  (Did you know dust smells?)

So, here is my suggestion.

  1. Go clean something that you have been putting off.  Something small.  Just one thing.
  2. If you don't know how to clean it, google it.  You'll make some little blogger ridiculously happy.
  3. Don't get distracted and try to clean something big or your whole house.  Just pick one thing.
  4. Reward yourself.  Post a picture of the clean thing and we will all smile with you!
See you soon!  I'm off to clean the guest room toilet.  Just because I've been putting it off and it will make me happy to cross it off that perpetual list in my head.
